1922 - Ma Martin's Restaurant

In 1922, Cecile "Ma" Martin, of Madison County, came to Groveland and opened her restaurant in Downtown where she served home cooked food.
She lived at 466 E. Magnolia Street.
She continued to live in Groveland until her death at 90 years old.
Cecile had two sons: George W. and Carl E. who also both lived in Groveland.

The restaurant would later be owned by a series of German families, including the Toths, thus it became known as the German Restaurant.
