Congratulations! You have received your land grant to start building your homestead.
Now that you have made it through the swamps and fought of the skeeters and gators, it is time to get to work.
How to play: • Objective: Build a cabin, start a farm, and grow an orange grove in 1800s Florida. Then you can focus on resource gathering and building a community.
Select a square on the grid. Then click the button for the action that you want to perform. Avoid blue rivers and lakes, which are non-
buildable areas, except for a dock and boat.
Each action costs resources (wood, money,
energy) as indicated. Actions can be repeated (e.g.. multiple farms, fences) if
you have enough wood, money, and energy.
Your resources are shown below. Your energy will renew at the end of start of a new day (2 minutes).
You will need to start clearing the land to make room for your cabin, so you can get married and start a family.
You can start cutting trees or plowing a field. Plan around water features and manage resources to
grow your pioneer town.
Once you have enough wood, you can build your log cabin.
Once the land is plowed, you can start a farm or an orange grove.
You can harvest your crops once per day, then sell them. Selling and shipping goods converts resources into
monev for further development. Create multiple farms and groves to boost vegetable
and orange production
Use sell buttons to convert excess wood or vegetables
into monev.
Build prerequisites (e.g., church and school before store) to unlock advanced structures.
You can build a dock on the river, then buy a boat, so you you can ship off your crops and supplies.
Construct a fence to raise cattle, but you will have to round them up from the swamps. Once you start your herd, it will continue to grow.
Build a turpentine still to harvest sap from the pine trees before cutting them down. Each tree can be harvested once per day.
Build a sawmill, so you can convert your wood into lumber, so you can build better structures or sell it for money.
You can continue building cabins for new members of your community and workers at your businesses. This will allow your population to grow.
Your growing community will need a Church and a School for the children, so be sure to build them, as well.
You will need to build a General Store to supply goods for the community, so they do not have to go off for days to do their shopping at other towns.
The railroad barrons will eventually take notice of your thriving community and will bring a railroad through, once you build a depot along the road.
